How To Get More Results From Your Robot Hoover

The Best Robot Hoover

The most effective robot hoover will mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin in the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If  auto vacuum  in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.  automated vacuum  can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however, it will cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
